Flutter Entertainment recently announced that it has joined the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA). Flutter is one of the biggest gambling operators in the world and the parent company to some of the most popular gaming and betting brands which include PokerStars, Betfair, Paddy Power, Sky Betting & Gaming and FanDuel.
Flutter is truly a global gambling brand with a lot of its revenues coming in from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Flutter has decided to strengthen its presence in the European market by joining the EGBA.
Just like you have the Betting and Gaming Association (BGA) in the United Kingdom and the American Gaming Association (AGA) in the United States, Europe has the EGBA. The EGBA is based out of Brussels and represents the interests of gaming and betting operators throughout Europe.
The EGBA focuses on providing player protection by educating players on the risks of playing at unlicensed sites and encourages them to gamble responsibly at all times. The EGBA put together a set of industry standards that it requires its members to comply with in addition to the gaming regulations of each EU nation.
The EGBA is also a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
Flutter Becomes Latest EGBA Member
Flutter decided to become a member of the EGBA as it was committed to fostering a safer gaming experience across Europe. Flutter CLO Pádraig Ó Ríordáin said one of the key priorities across all their brands was to promote safer gambling and it was a natural fit for them to partner with the EGBA.
Ríordáin said that the company looked forward to working with other members of the EGBA to help making the European online gambling market a better and safer place for all EU players.
Maarten Haijer, secretary general for the EGBA said they were very happy to see Flutter come on board. Haijer said that Flutter was one of the leading gaming and betting operators in the world and it was nice to see them emphasize their commitment towards sustainability and responsible gambling.
Haijer went on to say that the EGBA and its members are constantly working towards improving the online gambling market across the EU by complying with EGBA objectives and responsibilities. Flutters membership will further boost the EGBA’s impact and presence across the EU.
